Ice Skating in Reston, VA

Ice-skating is a wintertime classic and Reston brings the fan favorite activity into town every year. The ice skating pavilion is open all winter long and offers free public skate up until March. Outdoor skating only comes around once a year, so you better  get to the ice as soon as you can!

Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides in Reston, VA

Every Saturday from 4pm to 9pm, horse-drawn carriages are circling the town in holiday fashion. Take a ride and enjoy Reston’s evening holiday ambience under the lights! It’s $5 per person and all proceeds are donated to local charities.

Mini-Train Rides in Reston, VA

Every Sunday from 12pm to 4pm, mini-train rides are taking place around Reston. Spread some cheer and hop on the Reston Holiday Express at Market Street to see what’s going on around town during the holidays! All holiday proceeds will be donated to support local charities.

Run with Santa 5k / New Year’s Day 5k

It’s never too cold out to stay active and stay in shape! The New Year’s Day 5k on Monday, January 1st will provide music and food to all fans and participants. Potomac River Running is presenting the race and it begins from the Reston Town Center. Start training now if you plan on winning!

Toys for Tots Donation Day

Help make children’s wishes come true this holiday season. The Reston Town Center will be joined by the U.S Marine Corps Reserve to collect unwrapped gifts during The Toys for Tots Donation Day on December 8th. You can also find donation boxes in various building lobbies labeled for Toys for Tots if you wish to donate this way.

Handmade Holiday Ornaments Workshop

The Greater Reston Arts Center is hosting an arts and crafts workshop on December 16th from 9:30am to 11am. If your tree is looking a little bare this holiday season, stop on by the arts center to learn how to make some homemade holiday ornaments! Spend some quality time with the family and create some beautiful decorations to use in your home. The entry fee is $10 for residents and $15 for nonresidents.
